Why this program exists

A statement from Eric Edmeades

I believe every parent and every child moving through our family courts deserves to be heard clearly, confidently, and in their own words. Too many parents lose their footing not because their case lacks merit, but because no one ever taught them how to tell their story in a system built on paperwork and procedure. Too many children’s voices never reach the room at all.

That has to change. The One Talk Workshop teaches you to build and deliver a talk that carries real weight. For families and advocates working toward family court reform, that skill is not a nice-to-have — it’s how you publicize what’s happening, how you represent yourself and your children well in front of a judge, and how you turn a private ordeal into a public case for change.

This scholarship program exists to put those seats in the hands of people who need them most: parents and children directly affected by the family court system, and the lawyers and advocates standing beside them, pushing for reform. Your voice was never the problem. The cage was. Let’s free it — and put it to work.
